I am having the opposite problem of what some people are expressing. I actually want the BOINC to process continuously and not suspend when the computer is in use. Even though I have unchecked the preference box to suspend when in use it is still doing it. Has anyone else run into this?

Have you set the preferences on the web or in Manager?
Do you have something set in "Suspend when non-BOINC CPU usage is above x %"?

I am setting in the BOINC app itself. Don't have any settings to limit CPU.

The emphasized piece I'm wondering on. The pref in my local reads "While computer is in use" i.e. have ticked this to get computing continuing while at the machine.

If you wish continuous, continuing computing than the activity menu "Run Always" overrides pretty much all limiters.

40 or so lines from the beginning of Event Log wouldn't hurt.

I actually went to the project board and unchecked and rechecked the "Use GPU" setting and it has stopped suspending. I'm not sure why but that seems to have corrected my issue.

I suffered a hard drive crash, and had to rebuild my Kubuntu 14.04 lts system, with a fresh install.

I have run boinc on Linux for over a decade without any issues.

All of a sudden, it is telling me that it needs 100 m/b more hard drive space. I only have 1 attached project: world community grid.

I did the windows trick. Remove the programme, remove the data files in /var/lib/boinc-client

re-installed from the ubuntu repo, re-attached to the project -- it still tells me I need more room.

The local preferences say 10 g/b, and on the project website it says 3 g/b.

How do I fix this? I haven't done any work units since I did the re-install.

You probably had set local preferences and lost them with the re-install.

Just re-adjust the preferences to however you like them to be.
