I've just noticed that I have 7 units of completed work that are ready to upload to POGS but the deadline has expired. (Don't know why that would have happened.) Can these be manually uploaded or is there nothing I can do with them? Can I remove them from the Tasks list? Me transmitte sursum Caledoni. |

To force uploads, open BOINC Manager, Advanced view, Projects tab, select the project of choice and click Update. The Update command will immediately upload any outstanding uploads, download outstanding downloads and report any work ready to report. |

Thanks Jord. I tried that but it says "communication deferred" and starts counting down from 24:00:00. Perhaps it's pogs that is not accepting uploads. Me transmitte sursum Caledoni. |

Don't think doing that forces uploads, Try doing a 'Retry pending transfers' instead. Claggy |

Are you Ken G at POGS too? At least that Ken G's computer's last contact to POGS was on Friday 21 August. There is news on the POGS front page saying their server failed that weekend and had to be rebuilt. It seems the master URL was changed at the same time. If you are still using the old master URL you need to remove and re-add the project. Also, if the tasks you are trying to upload are already removed from the website's list of tasks then just abort the tasks, they are of no use to the project any more. |

Shouldn't the BOINC manager request the new URL at some point, without needing to reset or detach the project? My Detailed BOINC Stats ![]() |

Yes, after 10 consecutive failures - assuming the new scheduler address is properly embedded in the master (home) page html. |

Are you Ken G at POGS too? Yes that's me. I don't very often look at BOINC or check to see what's going on, I just let it run and do its thing in the background, so I wasn't aware of the server problem. I've done as you suggested - removed and re-attached the project and it is running again. Thank you. Cheers, Ken G. Me transmitte sursum Caledoni. |

Shouldn't the BOINC manager request the new URL at some point, without needing to reset or detach the project? Depends. I don't run POGS myself so I'm guessing here but what I think happened: Ken joined POGS 13 May 2013 using http://ec2-23-23-126-96.compute-1.amazonaws.com/pogs as master URL. Scheduler URL was probably similar to that. Around 17 Jul 2013 had updates and got a new master URL, http://pogs.theskynet.org/pogs/ . I don't know if the POGS backend was really running in ec2-23-23-126-96 or was there redirect or what but apparently everything still kept working. BOINC would have told to remove+re-add the project but if Ken didn't notice that... Around 28 Aug 2015 the old URL was taken out of service. Now BOINC can't contact the scheduler and can't fetch the new scheduler URL from master URL because it is still using the old master URL. |
