I have several data sets analyzed by my desktop, ready to update to 3 BOINC projects. My modem just died, and a replacement will not arrive for 5 days. The data deadline is 2 days. Any suggestions for how to transfer completed data from my desktop to my laptop, so I can send it in from a (secure) wifi link? I have searched the message boards and looked at the "Transfer" function, without success. Thanks! |

You'd have to move the BOINC Data directory with everything in it from your computer to the laptop, then install BOINC on the laptop. In the third screen of the installer click the Advanced button and make sure to point the data directory to the directory you just moved/copied the other computer's data directory into. If the laptop is already running BOINC, you'll have to temporarily uninstall/reinstall BOINC, on the reinstall pointing out the other directory as the data directory, using the advanced option described above. Afterwards you can then uninstall/reinstall the BOINC on that laptop again and point back to your own data directory. |
