I need to temporarily remove a project (Cosmology@home) to edit a preferece and the option to remove any of my projects are greyed out. I have uninstalled BOINC several times with no sucess. I have read through the forum topics and tried to search but no one seems to have had this problem. I can add projects, but once added I can't remove them. I confess I am not the most computer savy person, I don't know if I'm running BOINC as a service or not. This computer started with a Windows 8.0 OS and upgraded to Windows 10 earlier this year. I never noticed this before, I've never needed to remove a project.

To be able to remove a project, you have to click on it in BOINC Manager to select it, then the Remove button will activate.

e.g. open BOINC Manager (Advanced view), Projects tab, using the mouse, left-click on Cosmology@Home, the Remove button (and all other buttons) will now activate, click Remove and follow the instructions.

If you added the projects through an account manager (such as BAM!), you'll need to remove the project through there and then sync BOINC Manager with the account manager.

I have done that the buttons all activate except the remove button. I recently started using BAM, however I have never used it to add a project.

When you open BOINC Manager-Advanced view->Tools, what does it say here, Use account manager... or Synchronize with BAM?

Also, what is your setting for "Use BAM AMS functions" at https://boincstats.com/en/bam/settings/?

It says Synchronize with BAM, along with several other options but that one is first

If you're not using BAM, why are you attached to it?
Detach from BAM, and then see if the Remove button activates on Cosmo. (Check first you didn't add Cosmo through BAM, though).

(I'm off to dinner for the next hour).

I've been running cosmology since 2009, I've never used BAM to add any projects, I only recently started it to see if it would be useful. I'll try, thank you very kindly for your help! I'll post an update once I try.

I feel really foolish. I detached from BAM and guess what. Yup my remove is back. I'll think I'll just leave it that way. Hope you had a lovely dinner!
