Hi, the status of every virtual box using project (ATLAS, VirtualLHC, Cosmology) has been showing the following message: Postphoned: VM Hypervisor failed to enter an online state in a timely fashion This has been happening since windows 7 and continues into both my windows 10 machines. The problem goes away for a while after a reboot or a boinc exit/restart, but inevitably comes back. A third computer running Vista does not have this problem. None of the individual projects seem to be addressing this issue. Any suggestions? Thanks |

There is a discussion on the Cosmology@home message boards: http://www.cosmologyathome.org/forum_thread.php?id=7332 The suggestion seems to be that it's to do with the version of VirtualBox. My experience is that BOINC 7.622 with virtualbox 5.0.10 caused every work unit to fail on my Windows 10 machine, but so far it seems to be working since I went back to BOIMC 7.6.9 and virtualbox 4.3.12 - however, it might purely be the version of virtualbox. |

Hello, I am having the same problem here. I have seen a lot of forums in different projects talking about that, but no clear solution. I am using Windows 7, VM 5.0.12 and BOINC 7.6.22 and all the tasks for projects VirtualLHC, ATLAS and Cosmology (when using the VM) fail with the same error message. I reset the VM, deleted all the VM's and their files, reset the corresponding projects, all of this several times, and upgrade to the last version BOINC and Oracle VM and nothing positive. It seems it is not a problem of the projects, but how BOINC and the VM work together, because days ago I didn't have this problem at all (any of the projects). Now the 3 of them. Could anybody throw a little of light here? Thank you! Yacob |
