Hello! Would really like some hardware builds for an awesome boinc computer. CPU+GPU etc. Not to expensive.. :) Complete builds or parts. |

Hi! Do you have some precise projects in mind that you would like to dedicate the computational power for? Projects have different science applications available and not always for all GPU's. What operating system would you install? Windows or Linux? Would you be willing to overclock the computer? Would you like to use only new parts for the build or also some used parts which aren't sold new anymore? |

Also, what is your maximum budget? |

Thanks for responding! Well it should be able to handle most projects is my goal. Einstein, WCG, Asteroids, yoyo, Universe , Seti , Milkyway. Budget around 300-500 dollars and it does not need to be new parts. OS could be either Linux or Windows :) |

If you don't need a case, you can get a pretty cheap deal on some AMD G34 dual processor setups. Like the ones discussed in this forum thread. http://hardforum.com/threads/potential-2p-g34-setup-option-possibly-extended-to-h-members.1886166/ For 2 12 core CPU's (total 24 cores) and a board, we were getting them for like $75USD shipped. The rest of the parts should be easy to obtain within that budget. Your price range doesn't really support great GPU's, so that would be a future investment IMO. ![]() |
