Running Mac El Capitan OS 10.11.1
Boinc 7.6.22
only running seti@home

Started a couple days ago, screen saver starts, then freezes screen/computer. Can not undo. Have to turn off computer and restart. Have disable Boinc now to be able to use computer.

Any suggestions?

Well my computer is still freezing occasionally when waking from sleep. As boinc is turned off that probably isn't the problem.
Checking online seems to show an issue with El Capitan and some computers. I guess mine is now one of them...

I have exactly the same problem with recent versions of El Capitan.

Currently running 10.11.6 Beta (15G12a), but it has been like this since 10.11.1 I think.

BOINC 7.6.22 causes the freeze, as does all the developmental versions up to 7.6.33.

(Running on Late-2013 Power Mac - that's 16 cores and 2 GPUs just waiting to do some number crunching!)

since I upgraded to El Capitan, Boinc Rosetta have not cominication. or server is down?

I have 15 blocks 100% but not sending.

Same problem with system freezes here on 11-inch MacBook Air i7, Mid 2011. I have been running Boinc on this system without travail ever since I got it Dec 2011.
Problem first started with 10.11.4 and has persisted with 10.11.5
Have filed a bug report with Apple but have not heard anything back from them.

Everyone, question time:
Which project's screen saver is running when the screen freezes? What are their BOINC screen saver settings? Does this just happen when the screen saver is running, or also after computer sleep, and at other times? More details would certainly help.
