I'm running Linux and have Boinc set to run based on preference with GPU set the same way. It never stops running when I use the mouse or keyboard. I have to manually suspend and resume anytime I want to use the computer. Also tried using web based settings. Ubuntu 16.04 Boinc Manager ver. 7.6.31 (x64) wxWidgets ver. 3.0.2 Intel based machine with nVidia GPU. |

How exactly have you set all the settings in the Computing Preferences? http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/File:7.6.Computing_tab.jpg That can be accessed from the Options menu if you use Boinc Manager. Or if you prefer to use global_prefs_override.xml ... here's some information (section 'Command Line'): http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Local_preferences |

Have you tried restarting BOINC client? Open terminal and run the following: sudo service boinc-client restart |

I have both restarted and reinstalled while keeping my work units. I have also tried running it using the web preferences with no change. It keeps chugging along. The settings: Checked - "suspend when computer is in use". I have it set at 5 minutes. That alone should kill it while I am typing this, but it is still running. For what it's worth, I have it set to suspend if non-Boinc cpu use is over 25% and that does suspend it. It starts right back when cpu usage drops just like it should. |

The keyboard/mouse activity detection was broken on Linux for some time and got recently re-activated again. It should be part of version 7.6.33. Try to install this one. Sadly there is no package for 16.04 only 16.10. |

The keyboard/mouse activity detection was broken on Linux for some time and got recently re-activated again. It should be part of version 7.6.33. Try to install this one. Sadly there is no package for 16.04 only 16.10. Thanks, ChristianB. That took care of the problem. If anybody else wants to do it, I removed 7.6.31 then rebooted before installing 7.6.33. When I tried without rebooting, 7.6.31 ended up being reinstalled. 7.6.33 for Ubuntu is located here: http://packages.ubuntu.com/yakkety/boinc-manager . |
