BOINC 7.4.23

boincmgr requires libwx_gtk2u_html-2.8.so.0 [=> not found]

but Debian has version 3.0. So upgrading library no use!! Needs either downgrading linux lib or upgrading BOINC. Does BOINC on this site require 3.0? Or can boincmgr be patched to take 3.0??

Grateful for nay help as I cannot run boincmgr to control seti@home--can get stats from site. (I also cannot run boinccmd from cli).

From Software prerequisites (Unix/Linux):

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/SoftwarePrereqsUnix

since 7.4.0: ​wxWidgets 3.0.0

Try sudo apt-get install libwxgtk3.0-dev libwxgtk-webview3.0-dev

You'll get the dev packages too, but you'll also get the normal packages.

Debian offers packages 'boinc-client' and 'boinc-manager' which come pre compiled using the correct versions of the dependencies. Please use those if you do not need special development features.
