I've recently had issues with Macintosh TIme Machine backups not completing. As soon as I suspend BOINC activity, backups resume/complete.

So far I've reduced the CPU threshold and added Time Machine to the exclusive applications. Time machine application actually only runs briefly and when it does, BOINC pauses and then resumes.

In the Activity monitor I see the process "backupd" also stopping and starting along with BOINC activity, i.e. it stops when BOINC starts and starts when BOINC activity stops.

I don't know how to get "backupd" into the exclusive applications list, (or if that would actually help). Has anyone dealt with this?
