Bug reporting first step guided to post this here, so here we go: I upgraded boinc client from some unknown old version to 7.6.33 on Win 7 64bit. While trying to view remote computer's tasks list (about to 300 tasks to view), update speed is once in 5-10 seconds and whole client goes unresponsive between updates. This makes client unusable. Tested with two different client computers and multiple remote computers on same lan. I had to install older 7.4.42 version of client, which works without this problem. Is this known problem? Fast searching didn't find anything. Any known fix? |

While trying to view remote computer's tasks listHow? Via BOINC Manager-> Have you set up both systems to allow for remote control? What if you try to use BoincTasks, does that slow things down as well? |

Yes, via Select Computer in boinc As said it works fine with older official manger. So, yes clients allow connecting from set up IPs. Remote side (where to I connect) boinc client version is 64bit 7.0.27 linux. At first post I used word client where I should have used word manager. |

I tested few manager versions more. With remote computers' client versions 7.0.27 (linux) and 7.4.42 (windows). 7.6.32 broken 7.6.22 broken 7.6.1 works 7.6.12 works 7.6.18 works 7.6.20 broken 7.7.2 pre-release broken 7.6.19 is available only for mac When tried over vpn (10Mpbs after compression), manager's not responding time between updates is over one minute. And vpn connection is saturated in direction client to manager. With a working manager the tasks-tab loads instantly and it consumes around 150kB/s bandwidth to update. |

With thanks for the intensive work on testing which clients worked and which didn't. I forwarded your plight to the (then) developer of that part of the client/manager and he has made it into a github ticket, in the hope others pick it up: #1909 |
