Things are whizzing and zooming about. There's a lot of laughing matter entering my life. Thanks for that. If you can get the BOINC developers to make the board look as it does now, so the ignore function actually ignores, yes there is hope. As long as it says psssst click here to see an ad hominem attack, there is no hope. ![]() |

We have another general election, and keep on having elections until we get it right. |

For a dumb yank, what happens if nobody can get the votes to form a government? Well she has "formed a government" and is currently rearranging her ministers. The problem comes when a vote is needed. If Theresa Mays government cannot persuade enough "others" possibly DUP to vote with them then they could be defeated. The first test come with the "Queens Speech" Which is basically the new government outlining what they intend to do in the comming session. It is then voted on and of course expected to pass. It will be political disaster if it is voted down!! The Queen will open the new parliament on Monday 19 June and announce the government's legislative programme - a list of all the laws the prime minister hopes to get through parliament in the coming year. |

MPs will spend six days debating these plans before a vote on 27 June. This, in effect, will be a vote of confidence in Theresa May's government and the first test of any deal with the DUP. So They got just over two weeks to get their act together and try and recover from the shambles the stupid bint put the country in then , maybe it's just be but can't see it happening to be honest specialy with the brexit talks starting in a weeks time . If this was a script for a soap opera it would be thrown out coz it's just so unbelivable what a mess everything is in |

If you can get the BOINC developers to make the board look as it does now, so the ignore function actually ignores, yes there is hope. As long as it says psssst click here to see an ad hominem attack, there is no hope.As long as you can fill in the link in another browser where you're not logged in, so to see the whole message, it's more something you'll have to work on for yourself to suppress the desire to click the Click here to view hidden posts or to fill in the link into the browser where you're not logged in. Perhaps what we need is a BOINC forums app. In the mean time, the moderator team likes Richard's solution, so we'll use that. I'll slam the door to the forums shut behind me on Friday afternoon/evening (depends on our schedule) and you all go about your business. If trouble happens in this thread, Kath or Bernie come by and lock it, no warning or reason given. If the atrocities are even of that manner, they may even hide the whole thing. I'll look at it when I'm back. However: - Any new politics thread will be locked as well. - Posts with a political load in other threads will be hidden. - We will let these restrictions go if another big attack happens during my vacation and you all need an outlet to talk about it. A new temporary thread may then be opened. |

I'll dip a tentative toe in the water... It's off. It's back on. It may be back off again. Her Majesty will not be amused - especially if she has to miss Ascot ("A horse race, m'lud"). The trailers for tonight's Panorama special are looking interesting. |

State of Maryland and DC file lawsuit against President Trump for "flagrantly violating the Constitution"Source (Twitter) Maryland and D.C. sue Trump over foreign payments A lawsuit filed Monday in federal court says Trump is violating the Constitution's Foreign Emoluments Clause, which prohibits the president from accepting payments from foreign governments without the consent of Congress. The suit cites the president's luxury hotel in Washington, which has been at the center of concerns about conflicts of interest, and his worldwide network of hotels, golf courses and other commercial properties. Maryland and the district also argue that they themselves are being harmed economically -- because their businesses have to compete with Trump's, and because their governments face pressure to provide Trump with permits and tax breaks. "The president is bound by oath to 'faithfully execute' his office and 'preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States," the lawsuit says, and the president must "disentangle his private finances" from domestic or foreign powers to honor that oath. "Never before has a President acted with such disregard for this constitutional prescription," it says. |

State of Maryland and DC file lawsuit against President Trump for "flagrantly violating the Constitution" I'm trying to think of another president who did this much scum in 8 years in office as this one has in months. Everyone thinks of Nixon, but his was all over one political dirty felony trick. Perhaps Harding?, but he was only in office a couple years. It is obvious tRump is using the office to enrich himself as the expense of America. ![]() |

I like that link on the right more - for us foreigners: Confused by UK politics? You're not alone. Although I would think even the residential Brits are a bit confused by now. :) |

Yes, that's a good link. But it gets better... The DUP (10 MPs) are strongly against gay marriage. The Scottish Conservative party (13 MPs - up from 1 MP last time) is led by Ruth Davidson, who is an 'out' lesbian engaged to be married to her female partner. So if Theresa May hooks up with the DUP, she risks alienating the Scots (nothing new there) and going down by three votes... |
