Weirdly, my Boinc Manager 7.6.33 won't connect to the internet on an maintained Arch Linux machine. I ruled out Router-specific issues by testing various Networks and have added googles DNS server 8.8.8.8 to the etc/resolv.conf as suggested in a related FreeBSD forum. Yet no success so far. The console still outputs:
Fre 16 Jun 2017 15:16:54 CEST | | BOINC can't access Internet - check network connection or proxy configuration.

Any hints would by highly appreciated.

tcpdump(8) ? strace(1) (if tcpdump shows nothing) ? What packets and where they go?
