I have Boinc on my Mac set to stop crunching when on UPS/battery. Not a problem. My problem is that at times I'll get a power hit, the UPS will take over for a short time, two seconds, and then go back to mains. I see in the logs suspending on battery and a couple seconds later resuming computation. The issue is that it does not resume computation. When I move the mouse or hit a key on the keyboard to wake the screen, then Boinc resumes computation, but does not log a message. Otherwise it can sit for hours in a semi-stupor. I'm not sure, but I think one time I saw one thread, of eight, was running. Wasn't able to tell it was feeding the GPU or a CPU thread. Obviously this only happens infrequently so testing is not easily possible. I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this? Yes, the Mac is set to not sleep on mains, and sleep only after 5 minutes on UPS, shutdown at 50% charge. Mac is staying awake. Screen is set to sleep after a couple minutes, which it does. ![]() |
