- While the computer is on login screen, BOINC starts immediately, so, my computer working slow. Do you use Boinc Manager? Before you shut down Boinc, you could Suspend computation. That can be done also from the command line. Then if you exit Boinc and shutdown computer, Boinc shouldn't start running the tasks automatically until you Resume computation again. Suspend and Resume for all computation (or for GPU only) can be found under the Activity menu. - When I turn off and on BOINC, the program doesn't start, works don't start. If you used Boinc Manager did you check the box "Stop running tasks when exiting the BOINC Manager"? It shuts down the Boinc client. Then you could start the client again by running this command on the terminal: sudo systemctl --no-pager start boinc-client.service Is the Manager or program able to start again after that? You could also check the operational status of Boinc client with similar command: sudo systemctl --no-pager status boinc-client.service Boinc client will stop with this: sudo systemctl --no-pager stop boinc-client.service There's also Mint 18.2 available, if you like updating. |
