Hi, I have a problem that I could not resolve with boinccmd. I'm trying to connect to boinc using a Linux Ubuntu 16 terminal (no graphics) and I don't seem to be able to get the boinc client to attach to BAM. When I type boinccmd --join_acct_mgr bam.boincstats.com my-boincstats-email my-boincstats-passwd I get poll status: operation in progress poll status: operation in progress poll status: unexpected XML tag or syntax Any thoughts? The client was downloaded and installed using sudo apt-get install boinc-client boinctui Thanks |

What messages you get in client's log? boinccmd --get_messages |

Thanks for the tip. The error message was "invalid username and password". It worked after I gave to boinccmd my Boincstats username instead of my registered email. |

Hi there Actually, I still have an error Because I don't have an initial GRC balance, I decided to move away from solo mining and I'm now trying to mine through a pool. So, I stopped the boinc client and restarted it using the command boinccmd --join_acct_mgr https://www.grcpool.com username password I noticed my machines are receiving projects and running them but the GRC Pool website only recognises the hosts but does not recognise that the projects were attached. When I look at --get_messages output I get the below: (low) Account manager contact succeeded (internal error) Inconsistent signing key from account manager Any ideas on what that means? Thanks. |

Just to give a closure. I solved to problem by uninstalling boinc and manally removing all boinc configuration files (that kept my old solo mining username). After reinstalling, the problem disappeared and the tasks are now attaching to the pool. |
