I installed BOINC on a new PC and now Boinc manager crashes several times a day. Status shows that it is not connected with a client. The cruncher (setiathome_8.05_windows_x86_64.exe is still processing (at least 2 on this moment, perhaps due to work stock. The log is below. Some one recognizes this and has hints to solve this? Thanks in advance Log Name: Application Source: Application Error Date: 2017-11-14 08:47:42 Event ID: 1000 Task Category: (100) Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: 'My computer' Description: Faulting application name: boinc.exe, version: 7.8.3.0, time stamp: 0x59d3f202 Faulting module name: LIBEAY32.dll, version: 1.0.2.7, time stamp: 0x56d5fc8e Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00000000000e6543 Faulting process id: 0x3638 Faulting application start time: 0x01d35d14466e528f Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\BOINC\boinc.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\BOINC\LIBEAY32.dll Report Id: cf8c966b-308c-4f13-bfe6-be31e3cabc57 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: Event Xml: <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> <System> <Provider Name="Application Error" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1000</EventID> <Level>2</Level> <Task>100</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2017-11-14T07:47:42.862263700Z" /> <EventRecordID>2406</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer> 'my computer' </Computer> <Security /> </System> <EventData> <Data>boinc.exe</Data> <Data>7.8.3.0</Data> <Data>59d3f202</Data> <Data>LIBEAY32.dll</Data> <Data>1.0.2.7</Data> <Data>56d5fc8e</Data> <Data>c0000005</Data> <Data>00000000000e6543</Data> <Data>3638</Data> <Data>01d35d14466e528f</Data> <Data>C:\Program Files\BOINC\boinc.exe</Data> <Data>C:\Program Files\BOINC\LIBEAY32.dll</Data> <Data>cf8c966b-308c-4f13-bfe6-be31e3cabc57</Data> <Data> </Data> <Data> </Data> </EventData> </Event> |

BOINC Manager is the graphical user interface, so that you can easier control the underlying client that does most all the work. It's this client (boinc.exe) that shows in your event ID. If we want to debug this, we need a lot more information. Check When requesting help on these forums for the absolute minimum. But when saying 'new PC', it would be nice to know what that new PC consist of. What kind of cooling does it have? Is the PSU adequate? Also check in stderrdae.txt in the BOINC data directory (default at C;\Programdata\BOINC, it's a hidden directory, so just drop the path into Windows Explorer) if there's any more information there about this crash. Check from the bottom of that log file. |

C:\ProgramData\BOINC Colon not semicolon. Ageless is having <SHIFT> key difficulties. ;) I wonder if anybody ever calls it semicomma?? |
