Does anyone know why the Ubuntu version does not honour any data directory setting (BOINC_DIR) I might set in /etc/default/boinc-client? And does anyone know what I have to do to prevent boinc starting with /var/lib/boinc-client as the directory, and have a directory of my own choosing instead? |

Does anyone know why the Ubuntu version does not honour any data directory setting (BOINC_DIR) I might set in /etc/default/boinc-client? Starting up the boinc client with the -dir flag will allow it to be used elsewhere. This is a command I use to start up a 2nd client. If you use the default port of 31416 and the alternate directory it might work for you. sudo /usr/bin/boinc --daemon --allow_multiple_clients --gui_rpc_port 31422 --dir /var/lib/boinc2 |
