Dear All,

apologies if this has come up previously. I have an mini-itx mobo with a an AMD E-350 that I use to play around with (Gigabyte E350N Win8) and test various light linux versions. It's currently running LXLE quite successfully with an up to date 4.4.0-116 kernel and 4GB ram. Installation of the Boinc Client (7.6.31+dfsg-6ubuntu1) is straightforward and is running SETI V8.0 without problems. Only issue: it refuses to use the E350s graphic cores. OpenGL acknowledges their presence, using the renderer AMD PALM (DRM 2.43.0 / 4.4.0-116-generic, LLVM 5.0.0), with GL Version 3.0 Mesa 17.2.8.

I have followed the BOINC Debian Wiki's advice, but no success.

Any ideas?

SETI has applications for Open'C'L (computing on graphics chips) but not for Open'G'L (rendering graphics on graphics chips).

Hi,

many thanks for this. As the AMDPRO driver apparently delivers OpenGL functionality, will try to install it and feed back.

this ppa will provide up to date opencl drivers for amd gpu's
