On both devices where only WCG is the project listed, the statement recently and today is as follows when BM requests new tasks: Device 1. ...Checking presence of 572 project files on 7.14.2 - There are no 572 tasks on BM just 65 pending on 1 project only. Device 2. ...Checking presence of 336 project files on 7.12.1 - There are no 336 tasks on BM just 27 pending on 1 project only. Both devices state: Tasks are committed to other platforms This occurred in the past few days and denies new tasks when it should not. A possibility is that these numbers could reflect the number of tasks which were unfortunately late thus aborted many months ago with Acoustics. But I cannot find these tasks. Thanks for the assistance |

I would try a reset project or detach and re-attach to wcg. - doesn't hel with understanding why but should I think resolve the problem. |

Thanks Dave for the suggestion. The issue is that all pending tasks for the particular project would be aborted and these are rare and painstakingly difficult to obtain. The reset/detach is my last option. |

I'd also say that those messages don't look like standard BOINC messages. WCG uses different server code from the rest of BOINC, so it's probably better to ask on the WCG forums as well. |

Thank you Richard. I also posted the request for help on the WCG Forum as well. The reason I posted here is the number of tasks stated could be from another project being late/aborted Acoustics tasks from months ago. |

The original statement you queried was "Checking presence of 572 project files". Note the word 'files'. These are data files stored on the hard disk of your computer by the project - they include the application programs used to run the tasks, graphics used in Simple View, the buttons in advanced view to link to different pages on the project website. They will also include any data files used for any of the tasks, but there isn't a 1-to-1 correlation between 'files' and 'tasks'. |

Thank you again Richard. This clears up that statement. |
