So, I'm running a Ryzen 2600, a Strix 1070, running Asteroids, Seti, and GPUGrid. My CPU sits between 68 and 70c at any time, gpu sits at 65c, though my cpu's watercooler fans are actually intake, so gpu temp doesn't affect my cpu very much. In HWInfo, it shows all cores being utilized, but they're only running at 3GHz, not my OC of 3.6, or even stock 3.4. (Edit) Apologies, but I figured it out right after posting this and don't know how to delete. Lol. My RAM was at 3200, and idk if my VRMs aren't good enough to hold 3200 ram and 3.6ghz, but turning it down to 3000 fixed the issue. But as a secondary question, gpugrid seems to only use my gpu core, anything that uses gpu memory or 3d or anything? |

Tools used to perform calculations on GPUs (OpenCL, CUDA) have a limitation of 4gb address space At startup, the boinc message box can show (NVidia) how much video memory is available and it is never more than 4 no matter how much ram is on the board. If you are running gpugrid and have 63c temp that is excellent. I added an additional 1070 to my existing pair on my area51 system and had to retrofit a liquid cooling system (eVga hybrid) as it got to hot. my hottest board is 80c and that is close to thermal limit (83c) The other boards (not shown) are 73c and 55c with the 55 the water cooled eVga. The fan noise is pretty bad during the summer. Memory used on grfidcoin ranges from 700mb to 900mb with controller load 42. The GPU load moves a lot during computations and can swing from 90 down to 40 and then back up quickly. ![]() |
