Please enable the BOINc app movable to SD card on android phone. So user can free up the internal memory on their android phone.

Please enable the BOINc app movable to SD card on android phone. So user can free up the internal memory on their android phone.


I suspect this can only be done with one of the various utilities to move things to the SD card that require rooting the phone. Sadly the process and ease of doing this seems to vary greatly between phones.

I use App Mgr III to move the other apps to SD card. I do not need to root an android device to use this app and move to SD card functionality.

The app is free with ads.

My experience is that this app and others work with some phones much better than others.

Edit: Just tried it on my fairphone and BOINC isn't one of the apps it allows me to move.

You will want to run Boinc from internal eMMC drives (or SSD drives), as they download a lot of tasks; and long term use will wear your SD card out.
