I have version 7.16.5 (x64) windows 10 When I run the boinc as a screen saver it says loading when I start back working with the computer the screen goes black and the only thing I see is the courser I can't do anything else with it I have to turn power supply off. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't have the same issue, but it has to do with the screen saver so I figured I'd add it to this thread.

I have 2 laptops running 7.16.7 of BOINC for SETI as of this past week. Both are Windows 10 with all updates. One machine refuses to run the screen saver even though it is set, while the other runs it fine. Both have the same exact settings for CPU usage etc, and neither machine is used for anything on a daily basis so I would think the screensaver should kick in.

Strangely, each machine is also in a "communication deferred" status of differing values, though I don't know if this has anything to do with the screen saver not working.

Thoughts?

Please post, RAM, free disk space, CPU, GPU, which projects, how many cores in use, etc.

Seti@Home is in hibernation, as in it doesn't give out new work - only some resends of past work gone by deadline for others. Only when you actually run work do you get the Seti screen saver. Your communication deferred is correct as your computers are asking for work from a project that doesn't have any.

Control-ALT-Delete and the Esc to get out of Screen Savor.
I get that too and I know it's buggy. Here's how I know. Fresh (aka clean) install of Windows 10 Build 19041 and of course, a fresh install of BOINC 7.16.7 with ALL drivers updated, and the Screen Savor is still buggy. I was told they stop working on the Screen Savor before Windows 10 came out. Don't use it.
