In the last two weeks while running einstein@home, but also climateprediction, the cpu usage don't go beyond 20 %. There aren't any other active process and in the preferences the maximum cpu usage is set at 100%... I don't know what to do.... Any Suggestions...? |

Just lately I had something that might be related in combination with WinAmp Video Stream, running QAH and SpinHenge. Taskman looked like this : Spinhenge 48% WinAmp 16% QAH 15% Leerlaufprozess 18% <= not good! When I stopped the video stream, both crunching tasks went back to about 49% - 50% with an idle of 0% I don't know if this information helps in any way but maybe it gives you an idea what to check. Good luck! |

If you're running your CPDN model with the screensaver/graphics on, that could take nearly 50% of the CPU time of the core it's running on on an older computer, considerably less on a newer one. But your computer specs don't look old, so if this is a problem it can't be the only one. The general advice anyway is to run the climate model with the screensaver disabled. |
