The editor at CNN should be fired for allowing this opening sentence: "Severe storms with strong winds swept through the Plains on Friday, forcing swimmers practicing for U.S. Olympic trials in Omaha to flee pools and run for cover, killing two people in Iowa and knocking out power to thousands." The Olympic swimmers should be jailed, of course. ;-) Not that sentence two is any better: "Officials at the Qwest Center near downtown Omaha closed the building to examine it after superstar swimmer Michael Phelps and hundreds of other athletes were herded into hallways because of a tornado warning." So they also damaged a building? Damn them! Now what do you make of this: "Damage reports in the region included toppled trees and power lines, and hail the size of baseballs." ??? source |

If you know my language fairly well and want to have some fun, check the German EBay sometimes, some people trying to sell stuff there beat even garblefish translations :-/ For improving your knowledge in English language, this would be my tool of choice :-) I'm not using spell checkers, translation programs only in rare cases - so all misspelled, funny worded or otherwise wrong stuff is copyrighted by myself. If you're copying and using it to make money, consider donating some of it to a DC project of your choice. |

Thank you for the translations! I tried a website I maintain with the Swedish Chef, and I just about died laughing! |

What if you have lucky number 8 as ID and perceive stress... you retire a project a few times ;>) Hmmm... edited my own post. Firefox needs a grammar checker, even though it would choke on that one as it's grammatically correct. Too many buttons these days. You don't want to know how many times I have clicked Hide already when trying to answer someone's post! |
