I have the 64bit version of Vista Ultimate. After several false attempts to download boinc 6.2.5 (each time I was told that the install was interrupted; turning off firewall din't help) I decided to reinstall (successfully) and uninstall the current 64bit boinc version and do a reboot.

After attempting a clean install of boinc_6.2.5, and getting a little further this time, I get the following message:

"C:\Users\jphelan\Desktop\boinc_6.2.5_windows_x86_64.exe is not a valid Win32 application."

I also tried to install, John, with no luck - although I wasn't willing to go the length of a reboot to attempt it. I will say this - in addition to saying the installation was interrupted, it had the audacity to tell me that no changes had been made. But it had, indeed, decided to uninstall my old version of BOINC. That was easily rectified, but still an irksome inconvenience.

I saw from the changelog thread that it's apparently rare that people can get it to install - if at all. GRR. That really makes me want to work my behind off to get it working just for the sake of saying I can. But given my aversion to rebooting, and my latest bout of fun that involved iTunes hijacking my DVD burner, resulting in numerous reboots/issues, I think I'll shy away from this for now.

Well, 6.2.6 installs...

Unfortunately, it forces graphics to display for any WU that has them now. Closing the graphics window kills the task and then it force-starts again with the graphics enabled. If anyone knows anything about fixing this issue, it would be much appreciated.
