One project refuse to send work due to low free disk space value. But looking at their disk space usage on other hosts it's obvious that there are plenty of disk space for that project available.
So is any way exist to override free disk space value reported in shedule request?

Request less work, clean up your drive, or set the disk usage preferences more stringent.

Yes, these options could help (not in this case though), thanks.
Initial work request is 1 sec so it's impossible to make it lower.
The change disk usage policy from 99% to 100% doesn't give required amount.

So the question remains: does BOINC provide some mechanism to manual override of free HDD space reported to project in schedule request?

...

...

There are three options to adjust disk usage (four if you count swap space too). Here are mine:
Use at most 2 GB disk space
Leave at least 0.05 GB disk space free
Use at most 50% of total disk space
Use at most 90% of page file (swap space)

What does BOINC tell about really being free? Here an excerpt from my Messages tab:
15-Jun-2008 17:45:33 [---] Disk: 29.98 GB total, 6.85 GB free
15-Jun-2008 17:45:33 [---] Preferences limit memory usage when active to 444.98MB
15-Jun-2008 17:45:33 [---] Preferences limit memory usage when idle to 444.98MB
15-Jun-2008 17:45:33 [---] Preferences limit disk usage to 1.86GB

Well, in my case there is only ~300MB free space on partition.
Project under question uses ~20MB but requires ~600MB of free disk space.
So it just refuses to send any work. On another host with bigger free space it's happy with free space but it doesn't use it. So question is: can I manually resolve situation with incorrect needed free space estimation by project or it could be done only on server side?

Yes, I'm sure.
It's A.I.S. and its project directory takes ~6MB (with ~10 WU loaded) and WU in processing takes another 1,5MB is slot directory.
And memory usage just tiny.

As I told before, I try to attach to project on new host, so 1 sec of work should be requested firstly. And 1 WU should arrive on that request. Not?

Normally, yes. Am a bit pre-occupied with 3 other things (who says we men can't multitask? Pah!), so I missed your earlier post on that.

What are your settings for the disk usage options?
Are they set locally (through BOINC manager) or the web site?

Could you also post your start-up messages from BOINC Manager, please?

The limit looks to be about 10% of your free space. So the most likely fix is to increase the percentage of your disk that you allow BOINC to use.

I don't see 10%, for me 271 MB is almost equal to 0.26 GB :-)

@Raistmer: I never heard of an option to override the space request of an application. Perhaps somebody at Artificial Intelligence System can help you, if the demand is really that much overstated. Otherwise, your only option is to free another 207 MB on C: or to reinstall BOINC on another drive with more space, if available. When you, after uninstalling, copy the BOINC directory to the new location and install into that copy, you won't lose any work or preferences.

Thanks. They placed such high space requirements in anticipation of new app version. So these low HDD space hosts will continue with SETI.

It is quite possible to have different disk space requirements for each different kind of task.
