I tried upgrading to the new version of Boinc a few days ago. I use the computer a fair bit using remote desktop, however since installing the newer version, every time I try to connect the computer itself seems to completely lock up and I can only get back at it if somebody physically resets it. I've searched around a bit on here and not really found much similar, other than a couple of vague references to RDP not being compatible with CUDA (even though I have no compatible graphics cards and so no actual cuda applications are actually running) so have downgraded back to v6.2.19 and remote desktop works fine again. However, if this CUDA thing is going to be included in all future versions of BOINC then this is going to be a problem should I (or anybody else with the same issue) try to upgrade. Partly I am just wondering if it is, for some insane reason, just me with this issue, and partly if anybody has any advice. Many thanks |

Well i got the same Error, installed the last version of Boinc and my Computer loced up cuz i use a card with 2 monitors one got reaktivated as i moved my Mouse and one had an snapshot in Red color from the normal Blue Colored LHC Screensaver... witch was gone only after switsching to Taskmanager and KILL BOINC on top of that i couldnt use any Graphic Programm working on Direct X Base... Error no other Programm would run as long Boinc last version exist. so i say this new Version ist disturbing me to much and i switsch back to the old 6.2.19 Version wich had worked fine with me... Screensavers should run while i dont work on my PC but this Thing i dont know what it does its disturbing my Work.. |
