For the whole weekend, I've been unable to upload a set of finished jobs and get new ones. The message window shows: Project File Upload Handler Is Missing I've tried reinstalling BOINC without success. What should I do from here? Thanks. |

Perhaps the project is down? In which case, patience will cure it. Telling us which project it is will help us to help you. |

Project is "Einstein@Home" - it's been out of commission since Friday. |

Einstein has been down since the 27th with server problems. There's a couple of posts about it on this site. Look at the Message boards page; the second item down is Projects. The top post there is: News on project outages. |

It would be more efficient if the BOINC manager message system would explicitly state that the servers are down instead of "Project file upload handler is missing" |

It would be more efficient if the BOINC manager message system would explicitly state that the servers are down instead of "Project file upload handler is missing" I got this message: 29/03/2009 00:36:15||Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site 29/03/2009 00:36:16||Access to reference site succeeded - project servers may be temporarily down.though with BOINC 5.10.45. Don't newer versions have that message any longer? Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) ![]() |

BOINC can't know that, not unless there is something on the other end squawking that the servers are down, such as during maintenance. But when in doubt, why not click one of the buttons for the project? That'll tell you quickly enough whether a project is available or not. Or keep an eye on the Project Outage News thread. We try to keep it up to date on the major projects. |
