ah! problem fixed. Although i couldnt uninstall the programme (same error message about inability to access the network), attempting to re-install the older version (available off the site) allowed me to uninstall and then install the new one... happy days! |

HI! I am writng to inform you that BOINC version 6.6.28 has given me a few problems. First, it recognizes but does NOT utilize my secondary Nvida Video card. ( I only put it in for using it with BOINC), and second it was making my primary card regulate its fan VERY irratically. It mad my first card (EVGA GTX280) JUMP from about 75C to over 100C! and that... is the cause of the irratic fan behavior. In version 6.6.20 my primary card was never STRESSED to that temp. And 6.6.20 was utilizing my second card as well. However it ran hot, but ALL EVGA 8800GT's run HOT anyway. like at 99C the fan kicks in. I restored back to version 6.6.20 again. I hope this information helps. :) |
