I got a new Dell today and installed version 6.6.36 for Windows Vista 64-bit. The system is a Dell Inspirion 545 with an Intel Q9400 @ 2.66ghz and 8 GB of ram. It is running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1. When I allow processing, I get the following errors for Seti@Home: 9/5/2009 7:25:02 PM SETI@home Restarting task 17oc08aa.19227.15205.12.8.152_3 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 9/5/2009 7:25:04 PM SETI@home Task 14jl09aa.14059.15200.15.10.73_2 exited with a DLL initialization error. 9/5/2009 7:25:04 PM SETI@home If this happens repeatedly you may need to reboot your computer. 9/5/2009 7:25:04 PM SETI@home Restarting task 14jl09aa.14059.15200.15.10.73_2 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 9/5/2009 7:25:05 PM SETI@home Task 17oc08aa.19227.15205.12.8.152_3 exited with a DLL initialization error. 9/5/2009 7:25:05 PM SETI@home If this happens repeatedly you may need to reboot your computer. 9/5/2009 7:25:05 PM SETI@home Restarting task 17oc08aa.19227.15205.12.8.152_3 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 9/5/2009 7:25:08 PM SETI@home Task 14jl09aa.14059.15200.15.10.73_2 exited with a DLL initialization error. 9/5/2009 7:25:08 PM SETI@home If this happens repeatedly you may need to reboot your computer. 9/5/2009 7:25:08 PM SETI@home Restarting task 14jl09aa.14059.15200.15.10.73_2 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 9/5/2009 7:25:09 PM SETI@home Task 17oc08aa.19227.15205.12.8.152_3 exited with a DLL initialization error. 9/5/2009 7:25:09 PM SETI@home If this happens repeatedly you may need to reboot your computer. 9/5/2009 7:25:09 PM SETI@home Restarting task 17oc08aa.19227.15205.12.8.152_3 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 9/5/2009 7:25:11 PM SETI@home Task 14jl09aa.14059.15200.15.10.73_2 exited with a DLL initialization error. 9/5/2009 7:25:11 PM SETI@home If this happens repeatedly you may need to reboot your computer. I get the same "DLL Initialization Error" when running Einstein@Home. Should I downgrade my BOINC to the 32-bit version of BOINC...??? Thanks David |

you can try this: may or may not work:try detaching from those projects and reattaching. |

"Task exited with a DLL initialization error" is the same as "Result exited with zero status but no 'finished' file", just from a different BOINC version. See the BOINC FAQ service. What's your setting for "Use at most XX% CPU time" in your preferences? Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) ![]() |

I have my processor setting at 100%. I also tried using Bonicstats Account Manager to detach and reattach to both Seti@Home and Einstein@Home. Everything is still the same. I will try another reboot and see if that fixes it. If it does not, then I will try the 32-bit version. Could this be a windows security issue..?? I am going to turn off the Account Controls item, reboot and see if that does anything. David |

Ok, I reinstalled/repaired the installation of the 64-bit verison. Let it run under the Boinc_Master account and it is now working just fine. Thanks for the help..!! David |
