I use Boinc with Seti@home and Rosetta project on my various computers which all run under Ubuntu (janunty) Linux. Unfortunately, the default configuration which comes from BOINS and/or (?) projects is wrong. The projects are not communicate (I must use HTTP 1.0) and do not start. So, I changer the parameters "by hand" as follows: http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/ http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ <options> <http_1_0>1</http_1_0> </options> Now, the programs runs "full throat" and sucks full power from my 8 processors of i7 main computer.... so, it can be recommended to change those parameters on projects / BOINS websites. there are many Ubuntu users all around the world, but right now they are not able to contribute because of those parameters problems. And, everybody is not able to search and change conf. files somewhere in every computer... keep going! *ap* |

I don't think it's a Ubuntu (or even Debian or Linux) problem. I ran BOINC on Ubuntu for a while and had no issues with http. I know there are Windows people who have had to switch over to http 1.0 as well. Kathryn :o) |

I have 4 various computers running Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 with Seti + Rosetta projects. None of them was running BOINC correctly. I changed those parameters and it solved the problem. Now, BOINC is running well. On previous versions of UBUNTU there was no problem at all. Jaunty has new Ethernet / network module. |
