Hello everyone, So I'm trying to create a BOINC-wide team. I went to the BOINC teams page, where it told me to create an account, so I did, with the same email address as my Rosetta@home and Docking@home accounts. It gave me the correct Account Name, but different account keys and cross-project ID's (my actual one is http://boincstats.com/stats/boinc_user_graph.php?pr=bo&id=86ca70976e5b1481ba57e1d3c8c184a3). Username and email address are identical. Does BOINC need more time to update my CPID, or did I do something wrong? Thanks for the help! |

Yes, more time. cpids are created by a project to identify your computer, and as each project is separate from all others, initially a project will not know about other projects that you will join in the future, so it can't know what cpid it will use. cpids are checked by the servers at each of projects each time your computer contacts them, so they gradually learn about what other projects and cpids you have. The latest cpid is then used by each project. The big problem is with more than one computer. In this case you need to have at least one project common to each computer, and wait longer. |

we don't run teams here as it's not a project(it's the system), just the common grounds. And it would be best if you didn't share your account key or any personal id with the rest of the community. |

BOINC-wide teams are run from here (see BOINC-wide teams), and that was no account key but the CPID, which can be seen by everyone on the stats sites. Gruß, Gundolf |

we don't run teams here as it's not a project(it's the system), just the common grounds. Read his problem again and you'll see he didn't ask that. Questions about BOINC Wide teams are legitimate around here. And it would be best if you didn't share your account key or any personal id with the rest of the community. He didn't. That's his CPID, or Cross Project IDentification. Neither you, nor anyone else, will be able to log in on any of his accounts with that one, or glean an actual account key from that number. @PurpleTurtle, a side question. Have you already made a team at those two projects? I ask as I haven't seen many projects update the information from BWT after the initial taking in of the teams in the BWT database. I mean, I changed something on my team not too long ago in BWT and I haven't seen it propagate to any of the projects that do use BWT. And then there's those projects that I made the team at by hand, those have never changed the information. |

perhaps i need a new monitor... my eyes are starting to hurt for some reason when i'm looking at an nearly white screen. Perhaps you need white on black. But perhaps I should avoid derailing the thread :) |

But perhaps I should avoid derailing the thread :) Perhaps. monitor contrast is at 50 % already. |
