I recently started using Windows 7 and found out I could not run boinc as a service and use GPUs. Now I reinstalled without the service loaded and it only sees 1 of the to GPUs.

I've tried version 6.6.38 and 6.10.15. Both devices show up in the device manager.

Make or adapt a cc_config.xml file in your BOINC Data directory.
Add into it these lines:

<cc_config>
<options>
<use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>
</options>
</cc_config>

Save the file, make sure it has the .xml extentsion, not something else.
Then exit and restart BOINC for changes to take effect.

BOINC will by default only show the best of the GPUs as being available and use it.

Still just the one GPU. Anything else I should check.

Ok, so which GPU are you missing, what sort is it?

I have an onboard video card which is disabled that I'm not worried about. Then I have 2 identical GeForce 8400 GS's. I only have one monitor hooked up but I've tested the monitor on both cards.

You should try two monitors or a dummy plug. Does "extending the desktop" mean anything to you? (It doesn't to me :-)

As per my FAQ on that (see signature for the CUDA FAQ):

"Some people report that in order to have both video cards recognized and be able to use them, you can try to extend your desktop over all your videocards; if that doesn't work you need to have a monitor attached to each video card, or add a VGA dummy to the VGA outlet of the other video card(s)."

That did it. I had to plug a monitor in to the empty video card and make sure my destop was extended then restart boinc.

Thanks again.
