From the BOINC FAQ Service CUDA &GPU post, "In BOINC 6.6 (and above) you have the option to deselect the GPU through your cc_config.xml file. In this case add <no_gpus>1</no_gpus> to the <options> section of the cc_config.xml file. You must exit and restart BOINC for this option to be of effect. A simple re-read of the config file won't disable the GPU. Code: <cc_config> <options> <no_gpus>1</no_gpus> </options> </cc_config> I am running 6.6.38 and want to find this file.Where is this file cc_config.xml located? I tried C:\BOINC and C:\Program Data\BOINC. Thanks. >>RSM http://sciencesprings.wordpress.com http://facebook.com/sciencesprings ![]() ![]() |

It's in the second location. Or it should be, AFTER you create it. :) |

From the BOINC FAQ Service CUDA &GPU post If you read the FAQ anyway, why skip over the part of Using a cc_config.xml file? I am pointing to the other FAQs for how to set up a cc_config.xml file and what the default paths are for your BOINC Data directory. |

Sek- I am not doing it on the machine I have with me, a Vista machine which does quite nicely with no problems. All of the problems are on the new machine with Win 7 64bit and the I7-920 processor. I am just trying to learn as much as I can, for me this stuff is very deep. http://sciencesprings.wordpress.com http://facebook.com/sciencesprings ![]() ![]() |
