Hello,

I have boinc 6.10.18 on Windows 7. I configured it for running only when de pc is not in use, but the projects tasks remains in memory when i am using it doing that the computer runs very slowly. I have de option "leave applications in memory while suspended" unmark. Any suggestions ? If i closed the boing manager the tasks closed also, but i dont want to open and close boinc continuosly...

bye...

Are you sure that BOINC is pausing by itself when you're using the computer? Is the Activity menu option "Run based on preferences" selected?

yes, when i am using the pc the tasks status is "Suspended - user active" and is selected "Run based on preferences".

Are you running on the CPU only, or also on a GPU?
Which project(s)? If GPU, what kind of (make, model, drivers)?
Do you use the web-preferences or the local ones?

And finally, for now, can you post the BOINC start-up messages, please?

Can you test with BOINC 6.10.24 if you still have that behaviour?

And can you tell which applications keep on running?
Primarily CPU, GPU or both?

I have just unchecked "While computer is in use" in my local preferences, OK'ed out. Checking in Task Manager all science applications left the building. So here it works... on Windows XP.

I have the feeling it has to do with Windows 7.
The other day someone Seti reported the same thing. We managed to get it fixed for him, by disabling the GPU doing work on that project.

I'll inform the developers of a possible hitch.
