I changed my setting in BOINC Manager (Linux 6.10.17) from "when computer is used" to "only when computer is idle since 5 minutes". But it doesn't work - the CPU usage ist still 100%. (And yes, it's the BOINC processes taking this CPU time; when BOIUNC is quit, CPU falls down to 5% usage.) No matter if I type on the keyboard or move the mouse - BOINC doesn't pause/stop. Is this a known problem in the Linux BOINC manager?

As per the still open Trac ticket on the subject, comment by David:

The mechanisms for detecting activity differ between USB devices and PS2 devices, and they differ between distros and versions as well. We only have 1 Linux system for testing (FC10), and we rely on outside developers to provide code for the other cases. Can you point me to code for Ubuntu?

If you know where the USB user-is-idle detection code in Ubuntu can be looked at, let me know and I'll forward it to that ticket.

I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 with Boinc 6.10.17 and the only way it recognizes user input is 1) keyboard inputs into the terminal (not into any other program, that I can find) or 2) when I first boot, Boinc will correctly recognize all keyboard and mouse (both connected via USB) inputs.

If Boinc 6.10.17 had this Bug 10 months ago, then it'll still have it now, try a later version, 6.10.58 being the current recommended version,
