Hi to all, Built my new PC (Intel 920 i7, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit) and started BOINC again - all worked fine, WEB links too ! Then I had some troubles with IE8 and I tried out Opera with success - I like it ! Next was inactivating IE8 (there is no chance for really deinstallation). And now the problem: BOINC (project Einstein/LIGO) still works wunderfull except for WEB-Links (no reaction, no error message, nothing) ! Are there any settings I can do to get all WEB informations (like My Account a.s.o.) from inside running BOINC with Opera and without IE8 ? Logging in to my Account directly to the project page with Opera is working. Thanks in advance for any help ! |

Is Opera set as your default browser? I'm not much of a Windows person anymore and I've never seen Win7 so I can't tell you exactly how. Kathryn :o) |

How to set up your default browser in Windows doesn't contain win7 yet, but perhaps you can get some hints. Gruß, Gundolf |

As I explained Opera is now my own Browser, IE8 is no more "aktive", what ever this will mean in Windows 7. Perhaps installing of BOINC again will help. Should I use a "clean delete" first ? |

Perhaps installing of BOINC again could help. No, it wouldn't. I believe that Opera is now your only browser, but you must convince windows of that fact too ;-) Did you follow the link in my previous post? Gruß, Gundolf BTW, you can edit your own posts here on the forum within one hour, and if you are from German-speaking Switzerland, we could try that language. |

It's not sufficient to just "only use Opera". You must TELL Windows that it's your Default browser in an option somewhere. In Firefox on Win XP, there's an option in Tools > Options > Advanced to have the browser regularly check to see if it's the default browser. It's been a long time since I changed, but I think that if it finds that it's not the default, then you get a popup window asking if you want to make it the default browser. edit Too slow posting again. :) |

That was exactly the problem: Opera Browser set as "default browser" ! Now explicitely radiobutton set to "Opera Browser" ... and it works ! Thanks to all ! And now I will "speed up" to fulfill my 1'000'000 credits as soon as possible (now at 921'400.4) |
