Hello, I've been running grid computing programs on and off since SETI first launched and have been using bonic since 2005?....maybe earlier. One of my Older host has recently incurred a new issue I've never encountered before. The Bonic Manager will suddenly seem to forget what it is attached to, show nothing in the projects tab, and pop up with the attach to project/account manager window. I tried a fresh install of Bonic, no change. I then decided to format the unit as the XP install was home edition and I wanted to upgrade to Pro. I Fully formated the drive (Zero Fill). Installed windows, all updates and service packs; Sysmantec Endpoint, and then installed Bonic 6.10.17. Sure Enough the problem persist. I'm Really at a loss; I run five host all running 6.10.17 now flawlessly with the exception on this one host. Not that it should matter but it is a AMD Athlon 3400+ (@ 2956MHz) 2GB RAM, and ATI 3650 Radeon. One last note: There is no set time interval where Bonic detaches. It seems to happen anywhere from 20min to 3 days upon start of the application. Any Help or Suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, Have a great day. |

Have a look at the left hand pane of the Tasks tab. At the top is a new button, which alternates between Show all tasks and Show active tasks. If this is set for Show all tasks (which is when it displays Show active tasks :( ) and you have thousands of them lined up, then there just isn't enough time for the client to pass on all the needed info to the gui in the 1 second time window before the process has to start again. So make show that you only have it set to show the Active tasks. :) |
