I'm new to BOINC, and I'm having difficulty getting the manager to open on my Mac. I'm logged in as admin, but the manager doesn't recognize it and gives me an error message saying I don't have admin priv's. Anybody else had this problem and/or a solution? I'm using BOINC 6.10.21 on a G4 running Mac OS 10.3.9. Thanks! Duncan Parks |

A known problem. You'll need to upgrade to a test version of BOINC to get the "almost brand new" fix. See this post. |

For the record, all the versions after this fix I tried (6.10.26 and up) didn't want to install on OS 10.3.9 (rather 10.4 or later); I went back to 6.6.36 and go my older G4 running a limited project set. At least the CPU is working on something! |

That info can be gleaned from http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php, Mac OSX section. |

I just installed 6.2.18 on Mac OS 10.6.2 and it all seems to be there, but I get the message "BOINC Manager is not able to connect to a BOINC client. Would you like to connect again?" I tried Advanced > select computer and typed in local host, and it indicates a connection for a bit, but then I get the message again. |

I just installed 6.2.18 on Mac OS 10.6.2 This problem has been a bug in many BOINC versions, but the developer for the Mac is reasonably sure he's got it fixed in the latest version available, which in your case is 6.10.33 |
