Hi, I usually run BOINC together with Thunderbird and Firefox. However, when I quit Firefox and Thunderbird BOINC will become the front-most application and I cannot use any other application unless I quit BOINC and restart it. Any idea how to solve that? ![]() |

Which operating system do you use on that Mac? If Windows, what happens when you put BOINC Manager in the system tray (click the X in the right corner of BOINC Manager)? Is this with BOINC Simple View or Advanced View? |

Answer from the developer for the Mac: Charlie Fenton wrote: The only thing I can guess is that perhaps he has quit the Finder (which one normally doesn't do.) If you quit Finder, it will not automatically restart until all other applications have quit. However, you should be able to start it (or other applications) from the Dock. Not all applications are kept in the Dock when they are not running, but you can drag any application to the Dock from the Finder if you want it to be there permanently. |

No, I did not quit the Finder and the Finder runs fine. I have not found a pattern though. It might be associated with Flash content, but this is not reproducable. The problem persists with 6.10.44. Answer from the developer for the Mac: ![]() |
