[Idea / question] Has anyone considered trying to do 3d rendering via boinc?


See I think there is a huge opportunity to get some investments from the major motion picture industry people to invest money in this project if they could use some of the render time to do CGI for movies.

It could even be setup so when the rendering is done it would display the frame or portion of the frame that your computer was responsible for rendering.

Considering the massive cost of 3d render farms the movie industry would prolly be thrilled to donate money to this project in return for members then donating CPU time to help render the next pixar or Disney film etc.

Just an idea. If not Boinc then someone should pitch this idea to the big movie people it could be worth a fortune just make sure you send me some money for suggesting it :P
