Where might the temp. install. file, be located? Am trying to install rev. 6.10.58, and want to delete it, in advance. Thanks, also, in advance. |

This msi file deletion could lead to future issues upgrading/downgrading or uninstalling. Keep in the original 6.10.58 installer package on hand. |

Hi. Will do. What I've been trying to do, is upgrade from 6.10.36 to 6.10.58. It has been unsuccessful, thus far. Even previous versions (I have most of them.) don't install. After initiating the installer, it outputs to the main window (lower, right-side), then disappears. The system, then, slows down, dramatically (Windows VISTA Business, w/SP2, etc., on a Sony Vaio). This occurrs, even after previously deleting the supposedly "corrupted" installers. Am thinking that no corruption is going on, at all; all previous installs, were always no-brainers. Either Microsoft has changed software (or, Sony), or some software engineer, at BOINC, has omitted/added something deleterious. If worse comes to worse, I shall have to call up previous versions of my Windows operating system, until I find the last one that allows BOINC installs -- then nail down the software causing the problem. I'm somewhat surprised that more people are not experiencing this problem. Thanks, anyway, for your concern, and FYI. Jim M. |
