Are there any special tips for installing and using BOINC on locked down windows XP machines? We have many machines locked down into a standardised operating environment. I intend requesting that BOINC be packaged up as a standardised install. Any particular problems with this? Are administrative privileges required after the program is installed (eg to install particular projects?). |

What's a locked down Windows XP system? You mean that the other users aren't administrators? Install BOINC as a service (protected application execution). Then it'll run in the background for any user. Not allowing other users to 'control BOINC' through BOINC Manager is a pre then. |
