Any reason why my processing chip, a dual quad duo, only runs BOINC in one of its four quads, i.e., at 25% maximum (so says task manager)? My preferences are set to allow 80%. Am running XP-SP3 on a Megabyte Mother Board, with an Intel Chip. |

What happens if you allow 100%? Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) ![]() |

What version of Boinc? Older versions use a different preference: On multiprocessors, use at most 4 processors (used on Boinc 5.x.x) On multiprocessors, use at most 100% of the processors Enforced by version 6.1+ When you say only one of its four quads, does that mean you have 4 Quad Processors, as in, 16 cores? Problem seems to have gone away when I added Einstein to my project list (which indicates that is supports quads). New problem. My mouse sometimes slows to a crawl, actually it moves after I stop moving it--freaky. Seems to be associated with the BOINC manager. Unlss there is an instant reply, I'll have to gather up some additional information for member analysis. I'm a new user and appreciate the assistance. |

What project was the initial problem on? Did you have enough tasks? Claggy |
