Hi, I'm attempting to run with boinc_6.10.58_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu.sh on OpenSuSE 11.3 on an HP/AMD dual-core 64bit machine. It appears to install okay by executing the .sh file but executing the resulting installation results in many repetitions of the following errors. It doesn't look like openSuSE is officially supported, but I thought I'd ask about it anyway. Maybe this isn't a show-stopper. Any help in resolving this would be most welcomed. Thank you, Rich linux-1sa2:~/Downloads/BOINC # ./run_manager (boincmgr:15340): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading icon: Failed to load image '/usr/share/icons/oxygen/16x16/actions/dialog-cancel.png': Fatal error in PNG image file: Incompatible libpng version in application and library (boincmgr:15340): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading icon: Failed to load image '/usr/share/icons/oxygen/16x16/actions/dialog-cancel.png': Fatal error in PNG image file: Incompatible libpng version in application and library ** (boincmgr:15340): WARNING **: Pixbuf theme: Cannot load pixmap file /usr/share/themes/Oxygen-Molecule/gtk-2.0/others/menubar.png: Failed to load image '/usr/share/themes/Oxygen-Molecule/gtk-2.0/others/menubar.png': Fatal error in PNG image file: Incompatible libpng version in application and library (boincmgr:15340): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **: gdk_pixbuf_get_width: assertion `GDK_IS_PIXBUF (pixbuf)' failed (boincmgr:15340): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **: gdk_pixbuf_get_height: assertion `GDK_IS_PIXBUF (pixbuf)' failed ** (boincmgr:15340): WARNING **: Invalid borders specified for theme pixmap: /usr/share/themes/Oxygen-Molecule/gtk-2.0/others/menubar.png, borders don't fit within the image |

That looks OK to me. But I'm not a programmer :) I'll ping Rom to take a look... Kathryn :o) |

Those messages are from the lower level libraries like x-windows or gnome. In order to get rid of those messages you'll more than likely need to build a custom BOINC Manager for your distro. That way BOINC Manager will be built using the versions of the libraries on your machine. ----- Rom BOINC Development Team, U.C. Berkeley My Blog |

Thank you for your input. I'll check into the custom BOINC manager option. |
