The messages about new versions are just advisories that a new version is available, not an order to upgrade. If your old version was one in the version 5.*.* series, then you need to know that the current version 6.*.* series has been split into 2 parts, which need to be located in separate areas. For a V5 -> to a V6 upgrade, the installer should have moved all of your project stuff to the new location. If you were to search for your old projects, you may find them where they were. There's also a problem installing new versions, if the .msi file with the uninstal info for the old version has become corrupted, or been deleted. So, there's some info that we'll need to be able to help: What was the old version? Windows of Linux? ... the recovery instructions on your web site ...Which instructions are these? (Please post a link to them. We've got lots.:) ) |

And: Please post the exact error message, or error number. Please post your old BOINC version number and new BOINC version number. Please post what operating system you used and whether it's 32bit or 64bit Please post if your old BOINC version was 64bit or 32bit, and the same for the new version you are trying to install. And please use punctuation in your post. One continuous sentence is quite unreadable and isn't how you learned at school how to communicate with others in this world. |
