I have been using BOINC for many years - recently every time I start up I get "connecting to localhost" permanently.

It never does connect None of my tasks or projects appear

I installed the latest release 6.10.58 to no effect.

I am running Windows Vista -- Help please

Is the client running when that happens? Check for boinc.exe with task manager.

Look also at the log file(s) like stdoutdae.txt et al. in the BOINC data directory.

I decided to uninstall BOINC again.


I also deleted the /programfiles/BOINC directory as well as renaming the /programdata/BOINC directory. (I got a file corrupted failure on the delete).

All now seems to be OK - perhaps I had a corrupted file..........
