Just installed the software for the 1st time - but the statics does not work. Do I need to start up one of the local services to make this work?

The Statistics tab needs data from the server. So, you'll net to upload and report finished tasks to see data points/lines in the tab.

One point is entered per day, so you'll have to connect to the server at least once a day to get a "continuous" graph. The credits showed will not start to climb until a quorum is reached on your uploaded tasks, which means that your "wingmate" has to return the data too before credit is granted.
