Hey im new to boinc and just noticed on my GPU (560TI)the load while crunching is all over the place. For instance when crunching SETI work it sits around 60% load, when crunching milkyway its jumping around 70%-80% (sometimes going up to 90% for a second) and when crunching GPUgrid it seems to just sit at 75% load.

Is this normal? Is it just based on the data its crunching? I was expecting it to just sit at 100% load no matter what like my CPU. GPU drivers are all up to date as well.

You can't compare the load between projects. The task is translated into kernels that the GPU understands, and it's these kernels their size and weight that make up for the load on the GPU. On Einstein they can be heavy, on MW they can be light, but change the application and it could well be the other way around.

Want to have full GPU saturation? Use an older one, with less memory, or run multiple tasks on the same GPU. Check in the project forums for how to do that.

For Seti use this:
http://lunatics.kwsn.net/index.php?module=Downloads;catd=9
Look at the Seti forum on <COUNT> how to setup more than one instance.
This should load the GPU up a lot better.
TThrottle The way to control your CPU and GPU temperature.
BoincTasks The best view of BOINC.
